CLUB NOTES  21st March 2017

The much-anticipated meeting of our two Junior teams finally happened on Thursday night in biting cold conditions under lights in St. Annes GAA Club. Great commitment from all players but special mention to Scott Murphy, Robbie O’Connell, Brian Dillon, Stephen Fallon and Colin Devane also Timmy Murnane, Shane O’Dea, Tadhg Clifford and Ciaran O’Shea on their respective teams. Well done to teams and mentors on a fine sporting game. Thanks to St. Annes for use of their facilities

Well done to minor hurlers on their convincing win v Ballyboden St. Endas on Sunday.

Well done also to Robbie Lewis, Isabelle, Jennifer, Chloe, Saoirse, Kerrie and the Dublin Minor Camogie team on their great win over Tipperary in the A Championship on Sunday. Congrats to our Faughs Girls playing with Dublin u16s on Sunday, Sinead Richardson and Lucy Cullen making it 3 wins from 3 for the 16Bs who beat Westmeath are now into a Leinster Semi Final. Rachel Seery and the As got their campaign off to a winning start over Kilkenny and have Wexford next in 2 weeks time.

Congratulations to Cuala on their historic, well deserved win in the Club Championship on St. Patrick’s day. The first Dublin team to bring the Tommy Moore cup back to the capital. Well done to team, management and the entire Cuala club.

Birthday greetings to Pat O’Neill, P.J. Donohoe and Mikey Ryan who all celebrated landmark birthdays on St. Patrick’s Day. Congratulations to Damien & Karen Burke on the birth of their baby girl Suin!

Thanks to Monica for the Irish Stew on St. Patrick’s Day.

Golf Society’s first outing of the new season will be to Castleknock on 1st April next. Contact Liam O’Connor or any member for details.
