Ballyboden Tournament 15th June 2014

Well done to the u12’s who played in Ballyboden Tournament 15th June 2014.

The group contained Trim (Meath) Naas (Kildare) Ballyboden 2 (Dublin) and Faughs. The boys put in a solid performance to beat Trim in the opening game but were then beaten by a strong Naas side by three points in the second game. Faughs then beat Ballyboden in the last group game. Naas having topped the group went on to compete in the ‘Cup’ final and Faughs played in the ‘Shield’ final against O’Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny). This was a very tight game between two evenly matched teams, the scoreline of 0.00 to 0.00 at half time highlighting the competitive nature of the match. Faughs turned in a fantastic second half spurred on by Max Russell in midfield to eventually squeeze past the Kilkenny men on a scoreline of 1.03 to 0.02. Hon the Bealach! Thanks to Ballyboden for a fantastically run competition.
