Eamonn “Ned” Rea – Funeral Arrangements and Condolences

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we bring you news of the death of Club President Eamonn Rea following a short illness.

For over fifty years we were lucky to have Eamonn actively involved in our club as player, selector, chairman and president.

He enjoyed a wonderful career with his native Limerick winning Munster and All Ireland medals.

With Faughs he won three senior hurling championships and several leagues.

As Chairman he was deeply involved in much of the club’s development and together with others he pursued the acquisition of our grounds in Tymon North, the building of our clubhouse, the development of under-age section and the formation of Faughs Celtic Camogie club.

Eamonn had a very successful career with Dairygold Foods before opening his own business “Reas of Parkgate Street” where he ran a very popular hostelry frequented by Gaels from far and near.

Eamonn leaves us all with memories of great days, on and off the field. We will remember him fondly.

To Mary, Lisa and partner Dave, Seán and partner Vicky, Grandchildren Paddy, Ali and Faye, sisters Alice, Maura and Bridie, brothers Gerry, Dave, Tom, Jack, Matt and Mike, nieces, nephews, extended family, large circle of friends, and fellow members of the GAA family we extend sincere sympathies.
