Faughs Volunteers will operate in family or designated bubbles following these guidelines:

  • Only travel to collection areas in one’s own family or designated social ‘bubble’
  • Normal social distance measures apply to all collectors, the activity is outdoors, but there will be no physical interaction or mingling with other groups.
  • Collectors will use hand sanitiser
  • Gloves & Masks will be worn in the course of the work
  • Volunteers will not be in physical contact with the public while collecting trees
  • Volunteers will not ring bells or knock on doors where possible – the trees should be left out
  • If contact is needed with a household for any reason, it will be via the provided text number for that customer
  • Collectors take the trees to the pick-up areas and notify the supporting driver at the appropriate time – this will all be carried out via WHATSAPP
  • Most payments will be made online in advance thereby minimising any cash handling.
  • In the small number of cases where online is not possible; money maybe attached to the tree; it should be kept separate. No change is to be given to avoid handling money in any circumstances
