Club Notes 10th May 2016

A busy weekend in the club with activities at all levels in both hurling and camogie

First up were our senior hurlers on Thursday evening who, despite a great display went down to neighbours Ballyboden St. Endas in a sporting encounter. Best performances here from Emmet McKenna, Conor O’Shea, Chris Bennett and Fergal Heavey. On Saturday evening an injury-hit Junior A team lost to Naomh Fionnbarra. Chris O’Neill and Conor Kennedy gave great displays here. Last out were Junior Bs who had a resounding victory over Counsel Gaels. It would be unfair to mention any individual player in what was a great team performance.

Well done to both our adult camogie teams who had convincing league wins this week. Senior 2s overcame a strong Good Counsel challenge in Drimnagh on Tuesday evening while Senior 5s disposed of Kilmacud Crokes in Kilmacud on Thursday.

A Huge “Well Done” to Ger Nagle, David O’Leary and all of the Committee for a brilliant U13 hurling and camogie tournament on Sunday.  Tymon North was resplendent in glorious sunshine and the games were of the highest standard. Congratulations to winning teams Roscrea (Hurling) and Dicksboro (Camogie). Thanks to organising committee, and all competing teams. Go mbeidh sibh go leir ann aris sa bhlian 2017.

Thanks to Liam Sheedy, Dr Donal O’Shea & our sponsors Koping for a most interesting talk on Tuesday Last.

A great night’s entertainment in the club on Friday with snooker legend Ken Doherty giving an exhibition compered by John Virgio. A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
