Club Notes 16th June 2019

Weekend results – Senior hurlers were unlucky to lose by the narrowest of margins to Erins Isle on Sunday morning. Junior As also suffered defeat at the hands of St. Brigids in Russell Park.
A huge “well done” Aedán Mostyn and local Bishop Galvin N.S. on a great win in Cuman na mBun Scoil in Croke Park last week. Also to Eoghan O’Braonáin and Scoil Santáin, Tallaght who were also winners in their division. Keep up the good work Aedán and Eoghan. Stars of the future!
Faughs Golf Society news – Results of Outing to Blainroe N.P. 8 Gus Brennan, N.P. 17 Derek Manning, Front 9 Ollie Newman, Back 9 Michael Martin, 3rd overall Syl Byrne (B9) 2nd Overall – Denise Larkin, 1st Overall Padraic Larkin. Congratulations to all winners and hope to see you all in Palmerstown for our Captain’s Prize. Golf Classic – Response has been very good but there are still a few tee times available for teams, also Hole and Tee sponsorships. This is one of our major fundraising events and we would ask every member to make a special effort to support.
Very best wishes for a long and happy retirement to Ciarán Bass who hung up his top hat recently. Grafton Street won’t be the same without you, Ciarán.

This coming Friday (21st June) there will be a social gathering in the Members’ Bar to commemorate Robbie Cooke’s life and times which will be attended by members of the Cooke family. All welcome to come along and share memories and stories of this great Faughs man! First Anniversary Mass is on Sat. 22nd June @ 6.00p.m. in Carmelite Church, Firhouse.
