CLUB NOTES 18th August 2015
The quarter final stages of the championship saw two of our teams bow out at the weekend. Junior As played Scoil Ui Chonaill on Saturday evening in Clontarf and were unlucky to lose on a scoreline of 1-15 to 2-9 in a see-saw battle which could have gone either way but was finally decided by a fortuitous goal in the second half.
Junior Bs took on Ballinteer St. Johns on Sunday morning and gave a huge performance before going down by four points. It has been an exciting Summer for these teams and thanks to a lot of hard work and dedication we now have two very strong panels in place and look forward to great things from them in the future. Thanks to both sets of players and management teams for a great year’s hurling entertainment. Well done to all and don’t forget the league is still there to be played for! A big “Thank You” to Stephen Doyle and his company DS Supplies for very generous sponsorship. Commiserations to Ciaran, Jack and the Dublin minors on losing to Tipp on Sunday.
Well done to Chloe Mullen (3-1), Becca Lewis (0-3), Saoirse Mallon, Emma Ryan and the Dublin U16 B squad who beat Derry in the All-Ireland semi-final. Commiserations to Jennifer Sullivan, Kerri Finnegan and Isabelle Costello and the Dublin A squad who lost to Galway. Well done also to Aoife McCabe, Holly Finnegan, Kate Clarke and the U15B Dubs on winning the All-Ireland Blitz. Well done the Faughs girls.
Best of luck to all our Leaving Cert students who got their results last week and will be moving on to the next phase of their careers very soon.
Congratulations to Sean and Michelle Jennings on the birth of their baby daughter Orlagh Jude, a little sister for Ethan and another grand-daughter for Joe and Claire.
