Club Notes 23rd August 2020

A weekend of mixed results saw Senior hurlers bow out of the Championship on Sat. The best efforts of Emmet McKenna, Conor O’Shea, Ciarán Brennan and Carl O’Mahony were not enough to withstand the onslaught of a strong Na Fianna side.

Junior As were unlucky to lose to Realt Dearg by two points on Sunday morning. Fitzie, Benjie Bowe and Colin Devane all played well here. A big “Thank You” to Larry on camera and Conor for his “colourful” commentary and thanks to both Fintan & Michael for all their technical work on live-streaming the game for everyone.

The real Heroes of the day were the Junior Cs who had a great win over Erins Isle. This was a great performance by team and subs but special thanks to Trevor Donohoe, Tim Gleeson and “Super Sub” Karol O’Brien who played a blinder when he came on to replace the injured Brian Dillon. We wish a speedy recovery to Brian who had to be replaced when he pulled a hamstring.

All the above were championship quarter- final games.

Best of luck to Junior C team and management in the semi-final.

U15s lost narrowly to Lucan Sarsfields. Two Féile teams in action on Sat. Div. 1 team gave a spirited performance before going down to Kilmacud Crokes and Div. 6 team had a fine win over Geraldine P Morans.

In Camogie Senior 1s also went down to Na Fianna but by a narrower margin, final score Na Fianna 0-9 Faughs Celtic 0-7.

Junior 1s lost to Kilmacud Crokes by 4 pts. And Junior 4s had a fantastic win over Na Fianna.

U14 Div 1 lost to a strong Ballyboden St. Endas side.

U8s enjoyed their first competitive outing in the Cuala Blitz. Stars of the future no doubt!!
