CLUB NOTES 22nd May 2017

Adult Hurling – All three teams were in action over the weekend. Snrs played Lucan Sarsfields  in Ninth Lock on Sat evening in a downpour. The wet conditions made handling difficult and scores were hard to come by. They finally lost by three points in a game which could have gone either way.

Junior team (Managers Seamus O’Connor and Jerry Hearne) had a good win over Counsel Gaels on Sun morning. Although this was a great team effort special mention must be made of John Cleere, Adam Hogan and Stephen Fallon .

Our other Junior team (Manager Shane Brew) also had a convincing win v neighbours Ballyboden St. Endas. David O’Donoghoe, Karol O’Brien, Colin Brew and Darragh O’Shea were outstanding here in a game where every man played his part.

Our Schools Project night was on Thurs last. The quality of the work on display was exceptional! Well done to teachers and students in all participating schools. A big “Thank You” to Anthony Daly who took time out from a busy schedule to come along to present prizes and conduct a Q&A session with the children. Thanks also to Paul Dixon, Áine Lynch, Pamela Gill, Helen Ryan, Mary Waters, John O’Connor, Stephen Croke, David O’Leary, Robbie Lewis and especially to Mossie Nolan who brought along the Irish Press and Liam McCarthy cups to add to the excitement on the night, plus everyone else who helped to make this  such a hugely successful night.

Unfortunately our normal Thursday “Trad Night” had to be deferred due to the number of other activities in the club but will be back again as usual on the first Thurs in June.

Congratulations to Barry Rafter & Siobhan on the birth of their daughter Evie, and also huge congratulations to first time Grandparents Niall & Amanda Jones on the birth of Oliver.
