CLUB NOTES 27th May 2014

Following a slow start seniors finished well but were unable to make up the deficit and went down by four points to St Vincent’s on Saturday in Div. 1 League. Best performances from Ronan Hennessy, Brian Dillon and free-taker Eoin Prendergast. An under strength AHL 7 team traveled to Chanel on Sunday and were unlucky to be narrowly beaten by Parnells.

From the archives – one hundred years ago on 24th May 1914 Faughs won the Dublin Senior Hurling Final defeating Collegians by 11-3 to 5-1 before a record crowd in Croke Park.

Deepest sympathy to the Nugent family on the death of Ollie. May he rest in peace.

Golf Classic in Craddockstown on Thursday 12th June. There is still time to sponsor a hole, a tee or donate a prize.

Twenty questions in the members’ bar every Wednesday night. No cover charge.

Next Sunday we travel to Ballyraggett to play an invitation game against St. Patricks. Anyone interested in traveling is asked to contact club secretary Evelyn on 086 8057181 or PRO Monica at 087 4159116 before Wednesday.
