CLUB NOTES 28th NOVEMBER 2017
What a weekend!
On Saturday night the clubhouse rocked to the sounds of Sliotars in their Eyes. There were sixteen acts ranging from U10 camogie players to some of our more mature members. Mossy and Ailish Nolan aka Willie and Paula Nelson beat off strong competition to emerge well-deserved winners. A huge “Thank You” to all competitors, to compere Chris Holland, judges Karen, Michael and Paul and most of all to Eoin Reynolds for all the hard work and perseverance and of course his Neil Diamond rendition. Well done to all on an entertaining and exciting evening.
Many happy returns to Eoin who celebrated a landmark birthday recently.
On Sunday came the serious business of county final day. First up were Minor hurlers who, because of pitch closures had to concede home advantage and play St. Brigids on their home ground. But never daunted the lads gave a great performance and following a nail-biting encounter came away with a three-point win after extra time. Next out were Minor A Camogie team and following another close encounter it took a last-minute well taken point by sub Holly Finnegan to break the deadlock. Last of the trio of finals saw the Minor Camogie B team give a great account of themselves before going down to a strong Kilmacud Crokes side. Well done to all three teams and managements.
Deepest sympathy to Sean Lowney on death of his Grandmother Maureen Lowney. May she rest in peace.
