Club Notes 29th April 2014
A great start to the championship this weekend with our seniors having a one-point win over Na Fianna and intermediates drawing with Lucan Sarsfields. The senior game was a nail-biting affair with the teams level on several occasions. This was a great team performance but special mention must be made of the championship debutantes, Shane O’Dea, Ronan Hennessy, Carl O’Mahony, Tom Walsh and Stephen Fallon who all gave a great account of themselves. Also Maurice OBrien (3pts), Scott Murphy and veteran Karol O’Brien who made a big impact on his introduction.
Intermediates were unlucky not to take the two points against Lucan Sarsfields despite the best efforts of Mikey Gaule, Mick Connolly and Ruardhi Crowley. Great work by teams and mentors.
Well done to U/14 div 1 camogie team who played their hearts out in the Dublin Feile and narrowly lost their semi final by 2 pts to eventual winners Lucan. Thank you to everyone who helped out in Tymon on Sat to make the Feile run smoothly, special thanks to Good Counsel for their beautiful food. Well done to Niamh Mahon, Rebecca Dennehy & the Dublin U/16bs who won the Leinster title defeating Meath 2-9 to 1-7. Hard luck to Megan Lewis and the Dublin U/16a camogie team who lost their Leinster final by the narrowest of margins to Offaly 1-10 to 2-8.
Well done to Snr 3 camogie team who had a convincing win over Raheny in the League.
Congratulations to U/13 boys who had a great win at home against Round Tower Clondalkin in the challenge game last Thursday.
