Club Notes 29th September 2019

What an exciting weekend on the playing fields with championship wins in both hurling and camogie. Too many contenders to have one ‘Team of the Week’!

Senior 1 Camogie team had two points to spare over Ballinteer St. John to ensure Div. 1 Status for next year. A great achievement for this young group. Well done to all. Junior 1 drew with Erins Isle. Junior 3 had a good win over Cuala. U16 Div 3 lost narrowly to Crumlin. U15 Div 3 defeated Cuala by two points in a game which produced twelve goals! U14 Div 3 defeated Raheny A. U13 lost to Na Fianna. U9s enjoyed by 3-team blitz in Tymon North.

In hurling Minors bowed out to Fingallians. U14s defeated Thomas Davis to leave them top of Div 1 table with one game remaining v Ballyboden St. Endas on Sat. Oct. 12th. Time and venue tba. U13 Div 1 had a good win over Westmanstown Gaels. U12 Div 1 defeated Naas.

Next big event in the club is a reunion of Senior and Junior A Championship winning teams of 1999. A video of the Senior game will be shown on the night with a special guest commentator being flown in specially for the occasion!! All are welcome to come along and renew acquaintances and revive memories of a great year.

Our now-famous Food Fair takes place this year on Sat. 23rd November. A night not to be missed.

Club Lotto – Jackpot €11,500. This week’s numbers were 6, 7, 9 and 14. No winner. Two ‘Match 3’ number (share €200)- Dermot Malone and Eoin & Kevina Reynolds. Next week’s jackpot will be €11,600 euro. Thanks to all who support our club lotto.

Deepest sympathy is extended to Stephen (U15), Aaron (U13) and Killian (U11) Murphy on the death of their Grandfather Philip Griffin last week. Deepest Sympathy also to Mairead Hearn on the death of her Uncle, Larry O’Malley. May they Rest in Peace.
