CLUB NOTES 2nd MAY 2017
TEAM OF THE WEEK has to be our U14’s who beat off all opposition to reach the Feile Div. 1 Final for the first time in the history of the club on Sunday. Unfortunately they came up against a stronger more experienced Na Fianna side in the final. Well done to team and mentors on a wonderful performance. Thanks to all who helped out with hosting the Feile!
On the adult side all three teams were in first round Championship action at the weekend. Seniors were first up on Thursday evening against Crumlin and following a nail-biting encounter were unlucky to go down by the narrowest of margins following a last-minute goal by Crumlin. They now face Cuala in the next round on Wednesday evening. All support appreciated. On Saturday evening an injury-plagued Junior A team went down to Lucan Sarsfields. Then on Sunday morning Junior Bs took on neighbours Ballyboden St. Endas in Ballycullen and came away convincing winners.
With so much action at the weekend resources were stretched and we would like to thank everyone who helped with organising, mentoring or supporting our teams. Your contribution was much appreciated.
The much-anticipated U13 Tournament takes place next weekend. If last year is anything to go by a great day’s hurling and camogie is in store. Best of luck to all involved.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Hughes family, Mary, Willie. Brid and Patricia on the death of Mick. Ar dheis De go raibh a Anam dilis.
