CLUB NOTES 31st MARCH 2015
Senior 1 hurlers lost their League game v Na Fianna on a scoreline of 1-17 to 1-14.
Adult 4s lost out narrowly to St. Brigids following a last-gasp goal in dreadful conditions.
An under strength Adult 7 team were beaten by Erins Isle despite the best efforts of Ed. FitzGerald and Kenneth and Seamus O’Connor.
Team of the week – U/16 Hurlers had a great 8pt win over Ballinteer on Sat thanks to Man-of-the-match Daragh O’Donovan. Congratulations to Hugh Prendergast on winning the U/15 Dublin Handball Championship and also to Shola Ebodo who finished 2nd in the 200m National Athletics Championships.
Well done to Catherine Costello & Megan Lewis who both gave impressive displays for Dublin minors in their 4pt victory over Galway in All Ireland series. Well done to U/16 girls who beat Wexford & Kilkenny.
The results of the Member Questionnaire are on website. We are running a ‘History of Faughs’ schools competition in conjunction with local schools, keen pupils may be looking for interviews with members for their projects.
Congratulations to Shane Brew and Olivia Merrigan on the birth of their baby son, Ross, already signed up as a future Faughs hurler!!, also to Kate and Peter Nestor on the birth of their daughter, Hannah. Apologies to Conor O’Gara whom we inadvertently called David last week.
We wish a speedy recovery to Peter FitzPatrick who was injured in a traffic accident recently.
Congratulations to Ballyhale Shamrocks on bringing the Tommy Moore Cup to their club for a record sixth time.
If there are any players who have not yet paid their membership please be aware that in the event of injury you will not be covered by the GAA Insurance scheme.

It was with great sadness that we received news of the death of Monsignor Tommy Maher whose contribution to the game of hurling is legendary. Ar dheis laimh De go raibh se.
