Faughs 2020 – Projects & Committees Confirmed

We have now finalised our list of projects and recruited committee members to work on each project. There are 18 separate projects focusing on important work. You can check out the list of projects and committees listed below.

Pillar 1: Coaching & Games Development

Faughs GAA is providing a consistently high standard of coaching and ensuring each player in the club has an opportunity to participate fully, develop to their full potential and take part in meaningful games in an informal, safe and enjoyable environment. (Five projects: 1-5).

Project 1:     Coaching Skills Development

Team:            Frank Bennett, Richie Hogan, Michael Connolly, Liam Costelloe, Karol O’Brien, Robbie Lewis, Ciaran Brennan.

Result:           High Standard of Coaching for all 37 teams and better retention

Target:          All 37 Teams have a coach plan for training for 2016

 

Project 2:     Mentors-Parents support for Coach/Team Manager

Team:            Dorry Murray, Brian O’Neill, Sean O’Gorman, Conor Kelly, Suzanne Cronin.

Result:           Support for the Coach/Team Manager for 32 Juvenile teams

Target:          All 32 Juvenile Teams have a plan for 2016 with help from mentors and parents to support the development of the team & hurling skills

 

Project 3:     Inter County -Club Hurling trip activities

Team:            Eoin Reynolds, Paudie Ryan, Liam O’Connor, Sarah Hogan, Seamus Gilroy, Frances Prendergast, Johns Burns.

Result:           Increased opportunity to play and team building

Target:          All 32 Teams have a plan for 2016

 

Project 4:     Open Night in Sept for all teams organised in three groups

Team:            Karol O’Brien, Tommy O’Mahony, Richie Hogan, Brendan Bowe, Michael Douglas, Eilish Coughlan Black.

Result:           Increased opportunity to get new players and help retention.

Target:          3 Sessions: Academy; CC1 (up to U12); CC2 (up to U16) in Sept-Oct.

 

Project 5:     U13 World Hurling & Camogie Blitz May 16

Team:            Dave O’Leary, Michael Douglas, Ger Nagle, Trevor Cullen.

Result:           Support Higher Retention for move from CC1 to CC2 and skills development.

Target:          U13 Blitz All Ireland.

 

 

Pillar 2: Engagement with Schools

High level of School engagement to support both recruitment and retention of Juvenile Players in Faughs. (3 Projects 6-8).

Project 6:     Engage Primary School Teachers to promote Hurling & Camogie

Team:            Karol OBrien, Tommy O’Mahony, Frank Bennett, Richie Hogan, Paul Dixon, Dorry Murray.

Result:           Opportunity to dev skills with teachers and recruit, retain players.

Target:          Sept 15 Kick OFF & Jan 16 Follow up.

 

Project 7:     Dedicated Dev Officer for Secondary Schools

Team:            Frank Bennett, Liam Costelloe, Traoloch Martin, Turlough Doyle, Tommy O’Mahony, Michael Connolly.

Result:           Support Higher Retention

Target:          Higher Retention from U13s through Minor CC2

 

Project 8:     Open Club House for Parents & children for all teams

Team:            Evelyn Whelehan, Mary McVeigh, Hillary Duffy, Carol McCabe, Annie O’Brien.

Result:           Opportunity to build community, increase retention of players.

Target:          Club Sessions in Sept-Oct 2015.

 

 

Pillar 3: Facilities & Development

Faughs GAA will have state of the art facilities for the playing and promotion of its games. We will have an adequate number of pitches and training areas to allow the club to grow into the future. (2 projects 9 and 10).

Project 9:     Short Term make the best use of Existing pitches and Astro

Team:            John Sarsfield, Philip Ryan, Christy Leahy, Paudie Ryan, Tom Comerford, David Fowler, Eugene McQuillan.

Result:           Facilities available for existing 37 teams.

Target:          All 37 Teams have facilities for training and matches.

 

Project 10 A:           Medium Term get access to more pitches

Team:            Paul Dixon, Dave O’Leary, Ronan Mc Mahon, Barry McNamara.

Result:           Improved Facilities available for existing and new teams.

Target:          All Teams have facilities for training and matches.

 

Project 10 B:           Long Term Develop Faughs pitches

Team:            Paul Dixon, Dave O’Leary, Ronan Mc Mahon, Barry McNamara.

Result:           Improved Facilities available for Faughs teams.

Target:          Facilities available to support the Club Growth.

 

 

Pillar 4: Fundraising & Finance

Faughs GAA will have the sustainable fundraising capability and the financial stability to plan future developments from our own resources and investment in our Club with Clear reasons for fundraising campaigns. ( 3 projects 11-13).

Project 11:   Assist in Finance Mgt & Generate Funds from existing members

Team:            Tom Ryan, Gerry Delaney, Fergal Halligan, Mairead O’Connell.

Result:           More Funds to re-invest in Faughs.

Target:          Support Faughs Development of a pitch, ball wall etc.

 

Project 12:   Generate Funds from existing fund raising activities

Team:            Eoin Reynolds, PJ Newman, Therese Ryan, Hilary Duffy.

Result:           More Funds to re-invest in Faughs.

Target:          Support Faughs Development of a pitch, ball wall etc.

 

Project 13 A:           Generate Funds from new fund raising events

Team:            Eoin Reynolds, Oisin Malin, Humphrey OSullivan, Joe Cunningham, Sean O’Gorman.

Result:           More Funds to re-invest in Faughs.

Target:          Support Faughs Development of a pitch, ball wall etc.

 

Project 13B:            Generate Funds from Corporates

Team:            Eoin Reynolds, Oisin Malin, Humphrey OSullivan, Dave Simpson.

Result:           More Funds to re-invest in Faughs.

Target:          Support Faughs Development of a pitch, ball wall etc.

 

 

Pillar 5: Communications PR & Social Cultural

Faughs GAA has the most modern and effective methods in place to communicate with its membership and wider community & has a recognisable ‘brand’. The club is a social outlet for people of all ages and gives people an opportunity to enjoy social activities in the Faughs community. (2 projects 14 and 15).

Project 14:   Increase use of Club house facilities & Astro for Social Activities

Team:            Monica Spellman, Evelyn Whelehan, Lorri Barry, Carol McCabe.

Result:           More activity in Faughs for all members.

Target:          Build Faughs Community for all members.

 

Project 15 A:           Communications and Digital Strategy to support Faughs Plans

Result:           Communication for all Faughs Members.
