Thursday June 26th at 8pm

We are honoured to have Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns and Ard Stiúrthóir Tom Ryan visiting the club on Thursday June 26th at 8pm to celebrate our 140th club anniversary.

We will be launching our next five-year Faughs 2025- 2030 Strategy Plan. The plan reflects the collective views of our players, mentors, parents, and volunteers gathered through extensive engagement via surveys and workshops over recent months. The strategy outlines our clear commitment to Player Development and Building Community and details our vision and priorities for sustainable growth and continued success for our great club.

We will also celebrate our heritage, and we are very pleased to be joined by Paddy Williams to launch his excellent book covering all our clubs’ activities from 1985 to 2010

Please do join us at this special event, all welcome

140th Anniversary Celebrations – Lá Na gClub

Sunday 21 September

Faughs G.A.A. Club was founded at Easter 1885, ‘Under the Big Tree’ in the Phoenix Park in Dublin. Its inaugural meeting was held in no. 4 Gardiner’s Row, the then home of Michael Cusack (now the Dergvale Hotel)

When the Dublin County Board was formed in 1886, Faughs first chairman, Larry O’Toole was on the committee. At this time Faughs, wearing colours amber and black played both hurling and football, took part in the first Dublin championships in 1887, and were winners of the Dublin football championship in 1889.

This year marks 140 years since the foundation of the Club. We will be are holding our Lá Na gClub, Family Fun Day on Sunday 21 September, to celebrate this anniversaty.

We would like everyone to come along and enjoy the day’s events which are for the all the family, young and old. Save the date in your diary.
