Hi all & welcome back to our U14 Feile season
Hi all & welcome back to our U14 Feile season…
After a short winter break we are now back training for the new season, which is also our Feile year so we hope that all the boys & parents are ready to start on another adventure..
After a challenging 2014 season playing in Div 1, we have now returned to our more familiar hunting grounds in Div 2 so we hope to have a more enjoyable & less pressured season for both players & mentors !!. We know the boys have less spare time due to secondary school etc. but we believe sport is very important to keep them fit, healthy & with their friends. Our league games this season will typically be on Saturday afternoons & we are hoping to use the M50 pitch as our primary match day pitch which will normally be scheduled after the U13 matches. We will continue to use the Terenure college pitch as our primary Thursday training location as it’s a great facility & we are delighted to get priority usage.
Feile – May bank holiday weekend!!! U14 is the start of championship hurling & Feile is the first introduction to this GAA rite of passageJ. We would like to make this a very enjoyable experience for all players & will focus the first half of the season to ensure we maximize the experience.
Feile Sponsorship & fundraising – As is traditional, a special effort is made for Feile season to kit-out our players & have them looking the part. We hope to get the squad kitted out in new set of personalized hoodies at least but (got great use from current hoodies) & ideally some additional gear pending funds. ALL the funds raised will be going evenly to the player/squad so we would be delighted if you or your company would like to provide any sponsorship or if you would like to get involved in any fundraiser that will be needed. Please let us know if you want to help & your ideas for same.
Dublin development squads: We had 7 players involved in the U13 development squad, with 3 players (Eddie, Colm & Joe Kenny) still involved. All 3 played in the Dublin jersey in the end of season match against Cork. Well done to all & the development squad is always open to players to return & new players to join so keep practicing & improving!!!
Numbered jerseys: We will be wearing numbered jerseys this season & will be using an existing club set so NO need to buy any more jerseys for our growing boys. But have yet to decide how to operate a laundry system…All help welcome!!
Sunday afternoons & Additional ball work: We had very good response & feedback to the Sunday afternoon ‘player training’ in the Astro & gave the boys a safe social outlet. We will be restarting them again very soon & may also use the slot for some friendly matches.
