U10 T2 vs St. Judes – 22/04/16
Faughs lined out to play local rivals St Jude’s on Saturday morning last in Tymon North.
Our lads got off to a very promising start with a great goal from Oran Garrigan just five minutes after the throw-in. For the rest of the first half Faughs kept in touch and did extremely well to compete in some tough physical battles with the opposition.
Latest Faughs recruit, Josh Holloway along with Luca O’Reilly and William Doyle, in particular, gave excellent performances throughout this period.
Faughs grouped at half time to reconsider options with mentors asking all players to give 100% effort. There was a noticeable improvement in the team performance in the second half with lots of commitment throughout the squad. Andrew Strong and Luca O’Reilly managed two fantastic goals between them. Cormac Keogh and Liam Foran were equally impressive in the tight one-to-one physical encounters, giving opposition players little freedom to attack the Faughs goal.
In the end Jude’s just edged out winners but overall full credit to the Faughs boys with a great 2nd half performance.
Team: Tom O’Connor, Oran Garrigan, Liam Foran, William Doyle, Josh Holloway, Connor Fennell, Ruben O’Neill, Luca O’Reilly, Richie Hogan, Cormac Keogh, Andrew Strong.
