U10s home debut in TYMON
The boys played their first league match of the 2018 season – a Feb 24th fixture on the main TYMON pitch having graduated from KIMMAGE Manor. ST MAURS from Lusk were the opposition and were welcomed to our club by all. The extra TYMON space offers lots of scope for hurling and all took to the new environment with gusto. It was pleasing to see some of the skills that are being worked on at training come into use particularly rising and striking the ball. Overall the mentors were very pleased with the matches and praised the boys on performance and effort levels being very competitive against the opponents across the games.
This year there are four teams being fielded to ensure all boys get full game time and full opportunity to develop. Therefore, one team of 10 from the squad played away versus SHANKHILL. FAUGHS performed very well against the local team and wore their jersey with pride.
Well done to MOTM winners Ted Duke, Daniel McKenna and Eoin O’Brien who put in excellent performances on the day, and to Sam Sheedy who was MOTM at the away fixture. All winners were recognised after the matches and received their well earned trophies.
