U10s play ST JOHNS away and Na FIANNA at home in KIMMAGE MANOR
With the weather being kind to us, the guys finally got into their stride in Kimmage Manor this morning. The red team started okay and there was some good work done, however they struggled to click and although holding their fair share of the ball, turning it into points wasn’t happening with a number of wides and blocks from a strong competitive Na Fianna side. They went into the break a few points behind and came out in the second half with an increased level of intensity, commitment and team work. The efforts levels from all the team were really great to see and sure enough their rewards came with an excellent second half performance. There could have been a number of Man of the Matches today and in truth it was a team effort deserving team of the match! On the day Patrick Gaynor was selected, in particular for his willingness to listen to coaches and hold position at critical times and compete enthusiastically for the ball
It was an outstanding performance from the Blue team and definitely the best intensity/effort levels and skill displayed so far against a strong NA FIANNA side – our boys matched them fully in all aspects of play officially finishing in a draw. It was very pleasing to hear compliments from the opposing mentors about FAUGSH “having some really fine hurlers”
The One team travelled to BALLINTEER for a Friday evening fixture and competed well against strong local opposition there – the boys displayed some very good striking and making good progress on being able to rise the ball under pressure. Well done to all represent the club at U10 over the weekend.
Particular well done to MOTM Winners who were excellent on the day:
Jack Walsh at BALLINTEER, Michael Wall, Harry Boylan & Patrick Gaynor @ KIMMAGE
