U10s take on Kilkenny opposition – home and away!

It was away to GOWRAN on Sat June 30th to play the local team there with twenty two from the panel travelling.  Two games were played that gave the boys the opportunity to take their skills on the road to another county – it was an ideal learning opportunity to experience less time on the ball and faster pace against strong opposition.   The games were competitive and notable FAUGHS finished both matches strong, as they got accustomed to the different challenge on hand.  The hosts were extremely welcoming and provided refreshments to all, and presented the FAUGHS/GOWRAN trophy to be taken back to Dublin for the coming year.  Then it was back to our clubhouse for food to cap what was a fantastic day for all building skills and team bonding.

On Sun 1st July MOONCOIN were guests to TYMON and played against FAUGHS in all age groups.  Thirteen from the squad were involved and played some very good hurling against the visitors.  Again it was a great learning experience and it was great to see the effort levels increase to match the strength of the opposition.  Overall it was a festival weekend of hurling for the FAUGHS boys and finishes off the half season on a high.
