TEAM OF THE WEEK is our U14A Hurlers who had a convincing win over Ballyboden St. Endas on Sat. to claim the League title. Following a slow start the lads stormed back in the second half and turned in a great performance to ensure victory. Well done to players, subs, management team Shiner Brennan, Niall O’Brien, Robbie Lewis and Kenneth, Seamus and Ronan.

U15 Hurlers also had a convincing win in their Div. 1 tie v Na Fianna and to round off a great weekend U13s had a great win over Naomh Marnóg in their final game of the League. Well done and keep up the good work lads.

A big night in the Members’ bar next Sat. as our victorious Senior and Junoir A teams of 1999 meet up to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of these historic wins. A video of the senior final will be sown and I understand a “Celebrity Commentator” is being flown in specially for the occasion. All are welcome to come along and enjoy the craic and meet up with old friends.

The now-famous Faughs Food Fair is on Sat. 23rd November this year. All aspiring chefs or anyone interested in showing off their cullinary skills is asked to contact Evelyn @ 086 8057181 or Monica @ 087 4150116. Tickets on sale shortly.

The Gremlins were at work last week and as a result the Golf Society news was omitted. so here we are a week later. The latest outing was to Esker Hills GC and despite the atrocious conditions some great scores were returned. Results as follows:
1st. Gus Brennan 35pts, 2nd Joe O’Callaghan 30pts CB, 3rd Pat O’Brien 30 pts CB, Back 9 Paul Newman 16pts, Front 9 Padraic Larkin 16pts.

Next Golf Outing is on Sat. 9th November to Naas GC. There will be a get-together afterwards in the club house to celebrate 20 years of Faughs Golf Society. All past and present members and friends are welcome.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the wife and family of Tom FitzPatrick who passed away recently. Tom was a founder member of the society and will be fondly remembered by all. In Ithealann Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
