U9s Vs Kilmacud Crokes and Kevins 11 Nov 2017
U9 sign off the season versus CROKES at KIMMAGE and away versus KEVINS at Dolphin Park – this completes an excellent season in which all panel members have made significant progress. We fielded three teams versus CROKES and one versus KEVINS.
Yellow team report versus CROKES – I hadn’t seen this group for a match in awhile but they really shone today. Effort and work rate are 2 things that every player can totally control regardless of skill level, and to a man every one showed great effort and endeavour. Kilmacud were given little space on the pitch with Donnacha Thornton, Jack Behan and Jake Murphy Best all working hard tackling and sticking with their opposition. Peter Gill made some telling interceptions in the defence to relieve any possible pressure on our goal and birthday boy Fionn Manton, scored a fabulous goal by being in the right place and holding his positions well. Kai O’ Brien showed some great control when called on, raising well and hitting the ball to his team mates.
One moment of the match encapsulated both the spirit and teamwork of the group today which was so pleasing to see. With our defence working hard to stop their attack, Cillian McGettrick, who worked turelessly throughout, found space to rise the ball and hit a great pass up the pitch to Darragh Wrynn O’Nuallain, who collected it, looked at his options and made an excellent pass to Conor Deasy, who finished with a long high shot that fell just under the bar for a goal.
MOTMs – Cillian McGettrick, Sean Ringwood, Louis Roarty and Seamus Fitzgerald.
Great effort, great teamwork and great finish to the season, well done guys!
